One of the leading strategic and commercial CTO/CIO's who has transformation and innovation at the heart of what he does.
He possesses one of the broadest technologies and business profiles in the industry today, across multiple business leadership roles, including extensive M&A experience. He brings commercial technology advisory skills to the board room gained from Private Equity/Infrastructure funded and Public Listed companies. He has extensive experience covering all disciplines that enable Digital Transformation from Strategy, Product & Services Development, Implementation and Operations across multiple business types to include technology services providers, banking, finance, and travel. He has an impressive range of technology experience specialising in all forms of Information Technology, including a strong interest in automation technology, Cyber Security, Network & Voice services & Cloud, mobile technologies inc IoT.
Awards and recognition have followed him in whatever company he has been engaged with including being shortlisted for the CTO of the Year at the 2019 World Communications Awards.
In his most recent role as CTO for M247 a global leading Cloud and Communications service provider, he led the integration of three acquired businesses, re-launched the company's product and services portfolio, developed and launched a new Cloud Services portfolio including hybrid cloud and data management products. He has been instrumental in creating effective IT services and pioneering Software Defined Network (SDN) and Network Functions Virtualised (NFV) for the telco industry in his previous roles.
With his decision to transition from full-time corporate business life to create The CTO Practice a business which will deliver virtual CTO services including M&A support, consultancy and board advisory services, there now exists the opportunity for clients to tap into this exceptional capability to support their businesses transformation. One of his key skills is to translate complex technology solutions into simple commercial business propositions.
At the heart of his passion for technology is to promote the continued recognition of the CTO role in enabling successful business, whether that is as Chief Technology Officer or Chief Transformation Officer. Part of ensuring that recognition is his leadership as Chairman of the not-for-profit organisation, the Institute of Telecommunications professional (the ITP) which has the proud ambition to address the UK technology skills gap and mentor technology professionals to maximise their careers.
