Our apprenticeship recruitment process

Our rigorous recruitment process is designed to really bring out the best in people – We are proud that 90% of the apprentices that have started our scheme have been recruited by us.

We are firm believers that when recruiting apprentices, the standard 1-2-1 interview isn't the most effective way to see the full potential of the candidate, that's why we decided to devise an apprenticeship assessment day.

Once we receive a job description from you, we will advertise the vacancy and pre-screen the candidates. After an initial telephone interview, we invite the successful candidates to an assessment day at your premises (or host it virtually).

The assessment day will include:

  • Some more information on the role and the apprenticeship scheme

  • There are two assessments for the candidates to complete dependant on the chosen course, this could be a psychometric test, a maths test, or some questions about how they would approach some engineering problems

  • Fun group exercises

  • An interview

  • A short presentation by the apprentice to understand their motivation for applying for the role.
