81 Signal Squadron

81 Signal Squadron is an Army Reserve unit within 10 Signal Regiment a Regular Army unit. We are a Nationally recruited Reserve unit of Installation Technicians and over 80% of our people come from a BT/Openreach background. Our Honorary Colonel is Mr Mark Hughes President BT Security.

We provide fixed telecoms capability for the MoD in a variety of locations worldwide. We currently deploy people to Brunei, Ascension Islands, the Falkland Islands, Belize, Kenya, Gibraltar and also support the upgrading of much of the UK telecoms infrastructure on MoD sites. Currently we are looking at some emerging locations which are an indication of the 'new world order' and are prepared to deploy where we are needed.
