Job Title: Technical Support Apprentice
Apprenticeship Course: Level 3 Information Communication Technician
Location: Derby DE24
Working Hours: Monday to Friday 9:00am till 5.30pm
Salary: Around £9000, dependent on experience
To provide technical support to the entire team to ensure that technical solutions are provided to allow the delivery of projects on time and within budget, whilst meeting quality criteria and contractual and service levels as appropriate
Day to day activities:
Setting up and configuring of customer network equipment such as CCTV cameras, AV equipment, and wireless links in readiness for customer site installations (after training installation of these on customer sites will be required as well).
Manning the help desk line to ensure that customer instructions are received, tracked and dealt with in a timely manner.
Ensuring that all our Innovation Centre IT equipment is operational and working correctly.
Ensuring that post installation documentation such as CAD drawings, O&M’s, are completed in an accurate and timely manner.
Support the project delivery team as necessary downloading tests results, creating CAD drawings, arranging labelling etc.
Ensuring that our manufacturer and warranty logs are kept up to date and accurate.
Managing stock and other project support equipment.
Assisting the team with drawings and documentation updates.
Attending sites to carry out any necessary inspections or audits as required.
Qualification in Computing or Engineering related subjects ideally or relevant experience in the industry.
Must be computer literate, and willing to learn new systems and processes.
Willingness to learn and develop will be key to this role, and the ability to get on well with the rest of the team.
Good communication skills with those working around you.
Hold a full clean driving licence, and be prepared to travel to customer & suppler sites and meetings.
Initial experience of MS office products is required, but any knowledge of Smartsheet and Dropbox/OneDrive is also an advantage.
