Ofcom
Ofcom is the regulator for the communications sector in the UK.
Our mission is to make communications work for everyone.
In telecoms, we regulate fixed-line and mobile telecoms and the radio spectrum used by wireless devices. This means that we make sure people get the best from their broadband, home phone and mobile services and we monitor and enforce security requirement on telecoms providers.
We also look after the airwaves used by wireless devices.
In addition to the telecoms sector, we also regulate TV and radio broadcasting, video-on-demand services and post.
We have also taken on a new role as the UK’s online safety regulator – building on our existing oversight of video sharing platforms established in the UK.
