Meet Mova, the winners of ITP’s Best Company To Work For Award in 2025!
Congratulations on being named Best Company to Work For! What does this recognition mean to Mova and to the people who make up the company?
Being named Best Company to Work For is an incredible honour for Mova. It recognises the culture we have built together and the commitment we make to every member of our team. For our people, it shows that their contributions are valued, their voices are heard, and their wellbeing and development matter. It confirms that Mova is more than just a workplace - it is an environment where people feel supported, trusted, and inspired to do their best every day.
Your CIRCLE values – collaboration, integrity, respect, collaboration, leadership and empathy - sit at the heart of your culture. How do these values come to life in everyday work?
Our CIRCLE values were created by our team members and guide everything we do. Collaboration drives teamwork and problem-solving. Integrity ensures we act honestly and transparently, while respect shapes how we communicate and build relationships. Commitment reflects our dedication to doing our best work and supporting each other. Leadership is encouraged at every level, empowering people to make an impact. Empathy ensures we understand and care for each other. These values are part of our daily work, helping everyone feel valued, empowered, and inspired to grow.
Recognition seems to be part of daily life at Mova, from ‘Thank You’ cards to milestone celebrations. Why is recognition so important to your culture?
Recognition is central to our culture because it shows people that their efforts and achievements matter. From peer-nominated ‘Thank You’ cards to celebrating milestones such as anniversaries, we make sure contributions are noticed and appreciated. Celebrating successes strengthens connections between colleagues, builds pride, and encourages a culture where everyone feels valued. Recognition motivates people to give their best and fosters a supportive and inclusive workplace.
Mova has introduced some really innovative benefits, from wellbeing hours to flexible “work-away” policies. Which initiatives have made the biggest difference to your people?
Our flexible policies, particularly Everyday Life Challenges (ELC) leave, have had the biggest impact. Our policies allow people to design how and where they work, helping them balance career and life priorities. Combined with wellbeing hours, generous parental leave, and our remote-first approach, these initiatives show we genuinely care about our people and their lives outside of work. Remuneration is an essential part of recognising people’s contributions.
To ensure this, we work with Reward Connected and Willis Towers Watson to ensure our benefits and salary grades are appropriate for the talented people we need to retain to be successful at what we do. This combination of flexibility, wellbeing support, and fair pay helps our people thrive and feel valued.
Career progression and learning seem central to your people strategy. Can you share a success story of how Mova has supported someone’s growth from within?
At Mova, we’re proud to nurture talent from the very start of their careers, and Kristiano Ellis is a shining example. Joining Mova at just 17 as an apprentice in his first workplace, Kristiano didn’t know what to expect. With the patience, guidance, and support of colleagues and leadership, he was able to explore different areas of the business and develop his skills across multiple areas. Kristiano recently completed his Level 4 Applications Support Lead apprenticeship with distinction, an incredible achievement that reflects not only his hard work and determination but also the culture of learning and support that Mova provides.
As Kristiano puts it: “Mova has been an exceptional place to start my career. The patience and support from all my colleagues and management while I explored different areas of the business has been incredible. The flexibility and care embedded in Mova’s ways of working has allowed me to thrive, and it’s shown me how the company’s values: compassion, integrity, respect, collaboration, leadership, and empathy come to life every day.”
Your Employee Think Tank gives staff a direct voice in shaping how the company operates. How has this employee-led approach helped build trust, engagement and retention?
The Employee Think Tank gives people a real say in how we work and the initiatives we introduce. It has led to impactful policies such as ELC leave, a weekly wellbeing hour, volunteering leave, anniversary rewards, and our charitable match-funding scheme. By listening to employee ideas and acting on them, we build trust and a sense of ownership across the business. People feel their contributions make a difference, which boosts engagement, strengthens retention, and fosters a workplace where everyone feels included and valued.
If you had to choose one thing that makes Mova truly the “best company to work for,” what would it be?
The people. Mova’s culture thrives because of the energy, dedication, and commitment of our team. Every initiative, policy, and programme works because our people embrace them, support each other, and take pride in their work. Their dedication makes Mova a workplace where everyone feels valued, empowered, and proud to contribute.
Finally, what’s next for Mova? How do you plan to keep evolving as an employer of choice and continue to be the “best company to work for”?
Our CEO, Ben, has a response to these questions:
"Looking ahead, we'll keep listening, learning, and adapting together. Being recognised as the Best Company to Work For is a proud moment, but also a reminder that great workplaces are never finished, they’re always evolving. We want to create an environment where everyone can belong without feeling pressure to conform. Where people bring their true selves to work, knowing they’ll be valued for who they are and what they contribute.
We’ll continue to invite feedback, challenge ourselves to improve, and support our people to grow professionally and personally. We would love to grow as a business, allowing us to deepen trust, strengthen our culture of care, and find new ways to help our colleagues thrive. If we keep leading with our values, I believe we’ll remain a place where people are proud to work and excited to build their future.”
