Our Charity Partner
At The ITP, we are committed to safeguarding our members and supporting mental wellbeing within the telecoms industry and beyond. That’s why we are proud to announce R;pple as our chosen charity, aligning with our mission to create a safer, more supportive environment for the professionals in our industry.
About Ripple
R;pple was founded by Alice Hendy MBE after the devastating loss of her brother, Josh, to suicide. She discovered that Josh had been searching online for harmful content before his passing and was driven to take action. In response, she created R;pple, an innovative digital intervention tool that provides life-saving support to individuals searching for content related to suicide and self-harm.
R;pple operates as a browser extension and Wi-Fi-integrated solution, intercepting harmful searches and offering:
Guided breathing exercises to encourage a moment of reflection
Reassuring messages of hope
Immediate access to helplines and mental health resources
Since its launch, R;pple has achieved remarkable impact:
1.9 million downloads worldwide
100,000+ harmful searches intercepted
31 individuals have directly credited Ripple with saving their lives
36 awards in the mental health and innovation space

Background
I lost my only sibling, my brother Josh, on 25th November 2020 to suicide. After examining Josh’s phone, I found that he had been researching techniques to take his own life via harmful internet searches. To ensure more help and support is given to individuals searching for harmful content online, I set up R;pple; a digital tool (available to download as a browser extension or through Wi-Fi integration) that can provide immediate support to people searching for harmful content relating to the topic of suicide and self-harm. My Story is available to view here.
