Paul has over 30 years leadership experience in AI and telecommunications. His career has spanned many roles including software and systems development, technology venturing, management consultancy and leading international research labs. As Director of Research at BT, he created an award-winning global team developing data and AI powered solutions to some of the most challenging telecommunications and digital problems. He has held governing board roles for industrial research labs in China, India, UAE and the US. Paul is a Royal Academy of Engineering Visiting Professor in computing at Ulster University. He is a member of the ITP Journal editorial board and a Fellow of the Institute of Telecommunications Professionals. He currently runs his own consulting business, Compton Innovation.
