A Telecoms Site Acquisition Manager is responsible for identifying and acquiring suitable locations for installing telecommunications infrastructure such as cell towers, antennas and equipment. This involves negotiating agreements with property owners, landlords or managers, obtaining necessary permits and approvals from regulatory authorities and ensuring that the acquired sites meet technical requirements and legal regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of Acquisition Delivery Managers to ensure effective execution of acquisition activities across all agreed programs.

  • Engage with stakeholders including regional teams, suppliers and customers to support acquisition targets and allocate internal resources effectively.

  • Maintain accurate records of acquisition delivery status on all programs, ensuring that target lease and New ECC (Electronic Communications Code) terms are achieved on individual sites.

  • Apply telecoms acquisition and property expertise to ensure that Acquisition Delivery Managers, Acquisition Agents, Solicitors, and third-party suppliers adhere to agreed standards, policies, and best practices for delivery excellence.

  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, requirements and standards, including those related to security and telecommunications.

  • Report in a timely and accurate manner on all elements of acquisition delivery, providing necessary updates and insights to support informed decision making by the business.

  • Assess suitable solutions to continually improve acquisition processes and documents through acquisition governance, identifying areas for enhancement and implementing changes as necessary to optimise efficiency and effectiveness.

Skills & Knowledge

  • Ability to work effectively with stakeholders and build and maintain excellent working relationships.

  • Excellent negotiation, project management, and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong understanding of telecoms or property acquisition and familiarity with relevant regulations and requirements.

  • Strong IT skills, including the ability to use Microsoft Office and project management software effectively.

  • Able to lead complex negotiations, contract formation and contract negotiations

  • A general understanding or background in real estate development and land acquisition with an understanding of local laws, permitting, etc.

  • Confident and able to lead complex negotiations/initiatives to successful completion

  • Ability to be a strong team player, plus an ability to deliver independently; must be able to deliver results or projects in a timely manner within project metrics

  • Strong analytical, creative thinking, written and verbal communications skills

  • Proven ability to apply critical thinking in complex situations
